about

In these times of acclaimed mediocrity, it is a real pleasure to come across a group like the Fred Bison V. They're exciting, they're crazy (with a capital MAD), and, baby, are they happening! Meet Fred, peering from behind that hat. At first distant, then so friendly you want to be around him. Ray, cool behind shades that hide his pain. Ray is the band's deep thinker. His thoughts as deep as the notes he extracts from his bass guitar. Then there's Candy. Graceful, petite, studious, laying down a precise beat on her beloved drumkit. And Graham, the joker in the pack. Always ready with a quip when the going gets tough. Together they become a truly dedicated and 'mervy' (that's Bison speak for groovy) musical unit. 'Beatroots' is their first record album. The title, thought up by Graham of course, is a clever play-on-words wich looks back to their roots in beat music. But one listen and you'll be looking forward to further recordings by the Fred Bison V.

A steady stream of LPs since then showcase Nick's strengths of strong songwriting, finely crafted lyrics, and a musical mixture from wig-out guitar jams to sensitive folky numbers. New album The Leaving Of London is a triumphant return after a 7 year hiatus. ... more
